Susan Koutantos, Broker Associate
My name is Susan Koutantos. I was raised in New Jersey though I later moved to Colorado Springs in 1999. While living in New Jersey, I co-owned a diner/restaurant from 1988-1995. Working in the restaurant has allowed me to experience the joy of meeting and serving new people and getting to know them on a friendly basis. Before I knew it, many customers were starting to become "regulars" at the diner, and it was then that I had established positive friendships with my clients that continue to hold strong long after I left New Jersey.
Raising my children has been the greatest joy and experience I have ever known and I am truly blessed to have such wonderful, good-hearted kids! Raising my children has helped reinforce my belief in giving every person my very best. I believe in going the extra mile for people, knowing that at the end of the day I have helped make a difference (big or small) in someone else's life. I want to be able to listen and cater to my clients' needs, wants, and desires and help them achieve the pinnacle of home ownership. I want to see them smile at the end of the day and be able think to myself how fortunate I am to have helped a family, a couple, or an individual find a home that would stand strong for them for many years to come.
If my passion for helping others appears to be strong, it's because it is the culmination of most of my life experiences as well as the experiences of others struggling in the world today. I have been involved in communities, programs, and agencies such as TESSA, Toys for Tots, and Care and Share. The love I have for people in need is equally as strong as the love I have for the well-being of abused animals. I have a dog named Buddy who is a Shepard/Cattle dog mix and who is absolutely the best dog in the world! He was a rescue dog that I adopted from the Teller County Animal Shelter when he was 9 months old. I also fell in love with a pitbull named Ozzy whom I got as a birthday present for my son a couple of years ago. I have a special place in my heart for this particular breed as they are very misunderstood. My dream is to one day open up a refuge on a huge parcel of land to take care of and love these dogs that are no longer wanted or have been abused by others before. I want it to be a safe haven for them where they can live and run around freely and happily, and never be afraid of being hurt or scared ever again.
Helping people find their dream home, or even a home that can temporarily provide for their family, is an experience I hope will add to my already growing passion of helping others in their time of need. And I still feel that somewhere deep inside, each of us are still trying to find our way home...

When I began my initial search for a home in March of 2010, I had no idea of the in depth processes or extensive details that would be involved. In fact I still was not sure of the size of house that would suit me best. Before meeting Ms. Koutantos, I had requested information through at least five different agents about several different homes and deals I had researched on their company websites. The only replies I recieved were automated messages notifying me that my 3 day trial membership was about to expire and if I wanted to continue using their service I needed to "upgrade" my account. Ms. Koutantos however was completely different. I was contacted by phone within the day I submitted my interests by her personally, not a clerk at her office or a robotic mass e-mail. Over the next three months she worked with the extremely busy combination of my military and school schedule to help me understand and find exactly what it was I wanted. She made it simple and easy to establish a healthy working relationship through direct contact, even as late as 10 pm. the days I was unable to get to the housing paperwork. In June, I visited her in Colorado Springs and traveled to more than 20 homes. In a day and a half that my mother and I had set aside before I began training again in Missouri, Ms. Koutantos went so far as to skip her lunch breaks to accomodate. By July 23rd I closed on my dream home thanks to her and her helpful, courteous, trustworthy and completely genuine team. Since then, I have recommended her to my friends and fellow officers also traveling to Colorado Springs as their first post, and have received nothing but positive feedback from them as well. The overall experience was perfect and the type of great, selfless business that our country both relies on and needs more of.
